Covid-19 Update

Hello Academy Families,

I hope you’re doing well and are all safe. As you know, we have been monitoring the coronavirus and prayerfully considering what our response should be moving forward. We are taking it day by day and hoping there will be a positive change in the near future, but for now we have decided to remain closed for at least another week. This decision comes after hearing of increased cases of covid19 in Ventura county and based on the recommendation of the CDC and the executive order signed by the Governor of California.

We understand that this is not the ideal situation, but we genuinely have the best interest of every single student and staff in mind and want everyone to remain healthy and strong.

Last Friday Miss Natalie‘s class was sent home with two weeks of school work, so her students have another week worth of work to complete. Arrangements can be made to pick up a new packet of work for the following weeks, if we do remain closed.

The 3rd-12th grade class will continue working through their online curriculum and can message Pastor Andrew with any questions that they may have. We normally do not allow quizzes and tests to be taken at home, but during this time we are making an exception to allow students to continue to move through their studies. In the case of a continued closure, we are currently working on setting up video conferencing, so the students can speak with their teacher and receive instruction for other assignments.

We want to thank you for your continued support through this difficult time. Please join us in prayer as we lift up this situation to the Lord, asking for wisdom and protection, and that this will all be over soon. And through it all remember what the Lord promised in Romans 8:28...

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Together, let’s shine our light brightly, whether through phone conversations or on social media, and share the hope that’s found in Christ.

In His service,

Pastor Andrew Garcia
